Admittedly, I’m on a green kick.
Not sure if it’s St. Patrick’s Day that’s coming up or our tax return that we just got – woohoo! 😉
But either way, green is my favorite color right now.
I’ve always been a healthy eater and I try to teach my kids healthy eating habits. We frequently make smoothies and I’m always trying to amp it up by adding spinach or kale. My boys used to be scared of the green. But then one day I made them try it and they realized it doesn’t taste any different from a pink smoothie! Now, they think green smoothies are cool. Not only are green smoothies healthy but you can adapt the recipe to use up things in your fridge or add in ingredients you like better. You feel healthy after drinking one. And it’s green. Which is cool. 🙂
Healthy Green Smoothie:
Print Recipe Here
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt OR Greek yogurt
- half of a banana
- 1 cup frozen peaches
- 3/4 cup halved strawberries
- 1/4 cup skim, almond or coconut milk
- 2 Tbsp. Splenda or agave sweetener
- 2 handfuls of spinach
Directions:
- Add all ingredients in a blender and blend together on high. Depending on the strength of your blender, it might be easier to start by blending up the spinach and milk and then adding in the rest of the ingredients.
ENJOY!!
Oh, and this picture below I took off my Instagram (come follow me) of my littlest guy, Tate. He drank the ENTIRE smoothie all by himself. No joke. Sat there just like this, and drank it until it was gone. I love it!!!
Looking for more yummy drinks?
I love a green smoothie, I just wish I could get the kids to drink them like yours:)
I think this would be a great addition to our party tomorrow at Tumbleweed Contessa featuring green food. Not to mention those little boys could steal the show. (Found you on Six Sisters)
Hope you can bring it over to Saturday Dishes.

This looks delicious! I would love for you to join the Pinworthy Projects link party! http://www.atkinsondrive.com/pinworthy-projects-link-party-week-9/
Thanks for sharing on FFF. I actually have ingredients to make my first EVER smoothie and would love to make this one…I have all your ingredients. YAY… one question. I am going to the store this weekend to buy the appropriate blender. I know I don’t want a juicer, but is the vitamixer the healthier choice? I am diabetic and don’t want to just get the fructose. Thanks.
Lovely color Jen! Thanks for sharing at Foodie Friends Friday!
I just wrote a post about how I’m trying to get my boys to eat more veggies and I thought a smoothie was a great way to get them in them. I am going to have to try this recipe because I’m not having much luck with them. Thanks for the tip. P.s found you on the Tuesday Talent Show. I’m your newest follower!
Once I get my new blender I’ll have to check this out! I love smoothies!
Thank you for linking to Raising Imperfection.
