We live in a rural area in the midwest and there is a decent Amish population around here. We were out to eat at a restaurant and my son had to potty. I took the opportunity to use the facilities myself and he waited just outside the stall. An Amish woman had walked in right after us and while I was in the stall, and she was washing her hands, my then 3 year old yelled out “Mommy, why does she have a bucket on her head!?” …..
I couldn’t see her face, but I hope she was understanding and in the restroom long enough to hear me explain that it’s a hat called bonnet. Oh lawd did I want to just crawl into the u-bend in the toilet….

It’s a little late for me to make these strawberries for the 4th, but they look delicious. Thanks for sharing!
