Made this last night for the first time & as soon as I started eating it this morning....it is absolutely delicious!!!!! Tastes similar to peach cobbler. Since we wanted to sleep in this morning & I didn't want it to be too mushy, I turned the crockpot on "Keep Warm." Usually you don't use that till after you've cooked something but it was able to cook the oats perfectly. I'll definitely be making this again. Thanks for sharing!!!

Canned pineapple, pears or peaches turn ordinary dessert into something special. Canned green beans are something I use a lot, hominy is great for a quick posole' and canned beans of any variety make almost anything you can think of, from soup to nuts (work great in brownies, etc.). Lots of different varieties of tomatoes, too.

Never tried it but I'm sure it would be fine! Let me know how it works if you do decide to use fresh fruit. Thanks for the comment!
