I've been looking for a good oat and date cookie/ biscuit, where I'm from sunny south africa, I've just made my first attempt, they look good I put less sugar added molasses syrup instead of honey, added caramel ess instead of vanilla and more salt , so I should get a new take salty ,caramel ,date cookies/ biscuits, thanks for the guidelines
They came out delicious and chewy inside and crisp outside

I subbed with gf flour and added alittle freshly ground flax and cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Was delicious! But I think that the dates bring a lot of sugar, and I could easily half the sugar. I prefer my cookies with less sugar though!

Oh, I made these today and this is now one of our favorite cookies. So good. They are indeed crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. We prefer a cookie that is not overly sweet so based on some excellent comments, I reduced the amount of both sugars a bit and the cookies have just the right sweetness for us. Thank you for sharing this delightful recipe.

Really good cookies came out great with a little crisp on the edges and soft and chewy in the center. The sugar level was just right for my husband but a little too sweet for me. Next time I'll try without the white sugar, but hope it won't lose the crispness.

These are our favorite cookies! I omit the honey and add in probably about 1/2-2/3 cup of peanut butter. I’m also quite liberal with the dates and pecans and add some chocolate chips. This is the perfect everything cookie!

This cookie is PHENOMENAL!! Omgsh it’s so GOOD! Now a new favorite! Although I subbed quite a bit so I’m not sure if I made a whole new recipe but based on yours so kudos to you girl!

I cut the recipe in half, then baked half and froze the other half of the raw dough.

Used half all purpose flour and half whole wheat flour. Added 1 tsp cinnamon and 1tsp nutmeg. Then subbed white sugar for lankanto golden monk fruit instead! It’s my new favorite! So delicious!!!
