How To Prepare & Cook An Artichoke (in the Slow Cooker!)

How to cook artichokes in the slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 4 artichokes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • melted butter

Instructions

  • Trim the artichokes (using above steps to prepare) and place upright in slow cooker.
  • Mix salt and lemon juice and pour over artichokes. (Can also add butter, garlic or other spices you might like!)
  • Pour water in slow cooker to cover 3/4 of artichokes. Cover. Cook on LOW 8-10 hours or HIGH 2-4 hours.
  • Serve with melted butter. Pull off individual leaves and dip bottom of leaves in melted butter. Using your teeth, strip the individual leaf of the meaty portion at the bottom of each leaf.
