Delicious low-fat chocolate cake that’s made with a cake mix, sugar-free pudding, applesauce and greek yogurt. Super moist and deceivingly decadent!I have the biggest sweet tooth. I keep a bar (or three) of dark chocolate high in my cupboard so my kids can’t see it and nibble on it at night. And it’s dark chocolate, so it’s healthy, right?!
Anything with chocolate is my fave. This is why I dread the dentist. Anyone else hate going to the dentist? I’m terrified.
I’ve always had bad teeth. I feel like every time I go in for a routine check-up, I need a root canal or some other awful thing, even though I’m sort of a crazy person and brush my teeth three times a day. So unfair! My boys all have dental exams this weekend and I’m just glad it’s them and not me. Ha!
Okay, let’s talk bundt’s for a minute. Have you ever made one before? One of my very favorite chocolate cake recipes is this chocolate bundt cake but it is soooo not healthy. My boys love it though. It’s what I make for special occasions.
So about a month or so ago, my sister called me and told me that she’d gone to a church activity and they’d eaten a yummy cake which she had gotten the recipe for. In the recipe, there were ways to reduce the fat – awesome! I tried the recipe a few times and really liked it! Of course I had to mess around with it a bit and now you have this yummy skinny chocolate bundt cake!
I know what you’re thinking. Lower-fat means dry and tasteless. Not this cake! It’s actually super moist and rich! It’s the perfect diet fix for a chocolate sweet tooth craving.
I love that it’s made using a cake mix too, so it’s even easier! Plus the addition of sugar-free pudding makes it crazy moist. If you’re watching your figure (or your cavities), this is the perfect dessert for you!

Oh yum! I love using applesauce and yogurt in desserts, but I have never used them together.
I know, it’s weird, right Jenn? But it turned out pretty dang good! I also tried using coconut oil instead of the applesauce and that was good too! I’m sort of obsessed with skinny desserts lately. Thanks for stopping by Jenn!
Another great recipe! This will curb my sweet tooth yet not have the guilt. Thanks soooooo much 🙂
Looks so good! I too keep my dark chocolate to myself! Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate bar is my favorite. I got one for Christmas and eat a small piece occasionally. It’s pure heaven!
Eeks, I hate going to the dentist and always try to avoid it like the plague so I religiously brush and floss all the time just to delay the visits :-S This chocolate bundt cake looks fantastic Jen – definitely not dry or tasteless and love that it is skinny too 🙂
I wish I had a bundt pan. Bundt cakes look so pretty! And a moist low fat cake? I’m sold!
WHAT?!! You NEED a bundt pan! I have like 5, I’ll give you one of mine, lol! Thanks for stopping by! XO!
Uhmmmm, you healthified (?) a yummy chocolate cake? I am all over this!! I love this cake (and you!!)
Jen, This cake looks and sounds delicious. I love cake. Maybe this recipe will keep me from gaining a ton of weight from cake. Do you know if there’s a chocolate cake-aholics program anywhere? I may need help to overcome my cake addiction.
Patty, if you find a chocolate cake-aholics program, let me know and we can together, haha!! Chocolate lovers united, lol! I hope you’ll give this one a try, it’s super easy and really yummy!
bahaha! I am dying laughing at your dentist comments. I am the same way. No matter what, I’m getting cavities and crazy stuff at the dentist. Good thing we’ve got a good dentist in our family! 😉 He’s pretty freakin cute too! hehehe! Miss you!!!
PS I am drooooooling over this cake. Does it taste similar to the one you made for my birthday but healthier??!?! Hello, awesome!
Hey 🙂
do you have any idea how I could replace the baking mix? I live in Germany and can’t find any healthy baking mix over here :/
The recipe sounds great and the pictures are to die for!
Anna
I have no idea, Anna!! I should send you some! 🙂 How awful that must be to not have cake mixes!!! Thanks for the sweet comment!
Sounds super duper yummy!
Do you happen to know the nutrition information on it??
Kortney, the nutritional info is updated for this recipe! Thanks!
I was wondering do you melt the chocolate chips before mixing or will it melt when mixing? N
Hi there! Don’t melt the chocolate chips beforehand, just dump them in whole to the batter. I hope this helps!
