Creamy, smooth pumpkin milkshake made without ice cream! This conversation is sponsored by Silk. The opinions and text are all mine.
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Ha! 😉
I love me a good milkshake. In the last few weeks, I’ve really been trying to eat better. I’m going to San Diego with some friends in a few weeks and I want to look good. 🙂 Milkshakes sort of don’t fit in with that, right?
But a girl’s gotta have her sweets! I came across a recipe for a vanilla milkshake without ice cream but used two tablespoons of oil instead. I thought that sounded wacky but decided to give it try anyway.
It. Totally. Worked. Creamy, thick, real tasting milkshake. I’m pretty sure two measly tablespoons of oil beats out ice cream in terms of calories any day. So basically, milkshake with no ice cream = healthier dessert!
Of course I couldn’t leave it at vanilla. And because pumpkin is the best thing ever, I turned it into the most amazing pumpkin milkshake. Mission accomplished.
Have you ever tried Silk Almondmilk? It’s pretty amazing stuff. My family was sort of on the fence about it though. We are milk drinkers, you see. But this milkshake is amazing with the almond flavor of Silk Almondmilk. It adds such a richness that regular milk couldn’t give it.
So I gave this pumpkin milkshake to my two older boys, 13 and 10 years old, and let them try it. Guess what? They loved it! I asked them to describe what they tasted in it and they said pumpkin, of course. And something else. Something almond-like. It was the Silk! After that, I was able to get them to try Silk in their cereal, which they both love now. It gives them a nice switch from regular milk.
I get so excited when my kids try new things and decide they actual like them. Big Mom brownie points in my book.
Anyway, I challenge you. If you’re reading this and haven’t had the chance to try Silk – try it!!!! Need more incentive?
