Quick & easy cherry dump salad with only FOUR ingredients – dump it all in a bowl and stir together and voila! Crazy delicious fruit salad 🙂
So I’m a little late to the game, but I’m officially obsessed with the show Scandal. Are you a Scandalite? I guess they just ended the show but I’m just starting it on Netflix. Obsessed, I tell you! I’m watching it as I type this. 😉
You know what else I’m obsessed with? Cherry Dump Salad.
Okay, here we go again with the word “dump” in association with food. It just sounds wrong. But if you just think of it as a verb, as in “dumping these cans into a bowl” …you won’t feel like giggling when you hear the name dump salad.
Because basically that’s what this fruit salad is: dumping some cans into a bowl. Oh, and mixing in some whipped topping to make it super creamy. But only four extremely easy ingredients.
This salad is beyond easy, not to mention totally delicious, too! This is my favorite to make when I have company coming over and I’m afraid my meal won’t stretch. If I need an extra side dish, this is the perfect way to quickly make an impressive dish. It adds a sweet side to the meal that everyone enjoys. This is a family-pleaser and you won’t regret making it!
Ingredients
- 1 21-oz can cherry pie filling (I used Lucky Leaf brand)
- 1 8-oz container lite whipped topping
- 1 15-oz can mandarin oranges, drained well
- 1 15-oz can mixed fruit, drained well
Instructions
- Pour cherry pie filling in a mixing bowl. Fold in whipped topping.
- Fold in drained canned fruit. Chill and serve. Enjoy!
My sister loved Sandal but I haven’t found the time to get into it. I heard it is a really good show though! Maybe i will have to start watching. 😉
Love this salad! Perfect Memorial Day snack!
Pinned!
I love this type of salads. They are always always eaten!!!!
Looks so pretty and delicious for the summer days. xo Catherine
This is such a fun recipe, Jen! I want to try it!! It probably won’t surprise you to know that I’ve never even heard of the show Scandal. I swear I’m practically Amish. I never know about anything!
Nice salads, Jen. Thank you.
Love these type salads but store-bought whipped topping is so not good for you! Would love an alternative!
I’ve made it by whipping up some heavy whipping cream and putting that instead of the store bought stuff, Judi!
Uhm… I don’t know the show, I feel so uncool now 😀
This salad though – 4 ingredients and everything dumped into a bowl! Yes, yes, yes!
Haha Nora! Do you have Netflix? The whole season is on there. It really is a good show!
I love desserts that are so easy to put together like this one! I just jumped on the Downton Abbey bandwagon, and I am literally obsessed. I wake up thinking about the show and go to be thinking about it too!
I haven’t gotten into Downton Abbey…yet. 😉 My mom was in love with that show. That needs to be next on my list, lol!
are the fruits drained.? The
Salad looks really good!
Yes! They need to be drained well. Enjoy!
I like to add the whipped topping last so I do not over beat it and it will stay fluffy.
Great idea!
I’ve been making this for many years only I use chunk pineapple in place of the oranges and add a can of condensed milk.
Wonderful, everyone always loves it & they argue over who gets the leftovers!
