Crock Pot Hot Chocolate – the easiest way to make hot chocolate for a crowd!
California weather is super finnicky. Last weekend, I was freezing. Heat on, bundled up in sweaters and fuzzy socks with a warm cup of hot chocolate in my hand.
Today? Hot as can be. Shorts. Windows open, fans on. Um, it’s November? Right?! What the heck Los Angeles?! Make up your frickin’ mind!
If I had my way, it would be cooler and more fall-like. I like the fuzzy socks and especially the mug of hot chocolate.
I’m one of those people that buys the boxes of pre-measured packets of hot cocoa mix and adds the hot water to them. I never really knew there was any other way to make it.
Well, there is another way! Did you know you can make hot chocolate right in the crock pot? It’s so much easier this way because:
- you can make a whole bunch of it.
- you can keep it warm for hours while your guests drink up.
- you don’t need to worry about it! Once it’s in the crock pot, your work is done. Yay!
Obviously, I had a little help with my hot chocolate photo shoot. Ha! This 10-year old was obsessed with it and probably drank the most out of anyone. Gotta love those freckles, though!
This Crock Pot Hot Chocolate was crazy delicious and so simple to make. Perfect for fall/winter get togethers or for a cold Sunday afternoon. 🙂

I’d much prefer cooler weather right now too! My daughter and I did enjoy some hot cocoa earlier in the week, when it was a little chillier. 🙂 I started making homemade hot chocolate last year and will never go back! Making it in the crock pot is such a great idea! Love the photo of your son. 🙂
He is such a ham, Kristine! My boys are always wanting to pose in my pictures. My husband was looking at this post last night when I scheduled it and he was like “are you really going to put that picture up?” Ha! Thanks friend! Hope you have a great weekend!
I hear you! It has been the same with in NC except no quite warm enough for flip flops but definitely windows opens and the heat blast the next day! This is perfect for those cold days!
Can’t we just get winter weather Nancy?! Then I can drink hot chocolate all day long! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
I am loving my crock pot and especially how they can hold drinks nice and warm for a long time. Yes, chocolate goes very quickly. 🙂 Those freckles are so cute!
Thanks Ginny! The crock pot is my best friend. Lol! Have a great weekend!
I’m tired of the warm weather here too — I want sweaters and boots weather! And hot cocoa weather.

KC’s weather has been the same way! But I think the weather has finallyyyyyy has cooled down for good. Which I am not complaining about. I love bundling up (inside of course) with my fuzzy socks and sweats. And most definitely putting a large crock pot of hot cocoa on! Pinned!
Considering it is 21 degrees right now but “feels like 7” according to my weather app, I NEED THIS NOW! Pinned!!
Also, I am DYING over that picture of Chance. How the crap is he so old? He is so handsome!
