Oven S’mores Sandwiches for the WIN! You don’t need a campfire to enjoy s’mores, make them in the oven instead! These are incredibly easy to make (about 5 minutes total!) and are the perfect combo of salty and sweet. (Thanks to Vons for sponsoring this post!)
Last weekend, I was able to go away on a fun girls trip to Palm Springs with some girlfriends. It was so nice to leave behind the stresses of everyday life and be able to sit and relax at the pool. We stayed at my friends parents condo there. They have no internet, which was hard but also nice because I had an excuse to not work while I was there. 🙂
My friends know that my life revolves around my kids and this little website of mine. I was talking about recipes and that I was going to be working with Ritz Crackers on an upcoming campaign. One of my friends piped up and said “OH! I know what you need to make! Oven Smores using Ritz crackers!”
I almost fell off my chair! Why haven’t I thought of doing this before?! I mean, obviously oven smores is not a new idea, but using a salty cracker instead of a graham cracker is a new concept – at least to me!
I think it makes the cutest sandwich aka RITZwich and they’re so easy to make! I bought all my ingredients at my neighborhood Vons grocery store and got to work.
I laid out some Whole Wheat Ritz Crackers on a cookie sheet (whole wheat have a nuttier, sweeter taste but also I find they’re less crumbly than the original kind). I laid some chocolate squares on top of each cracker and topped that with half of a jumbo size marshmallow. Bake that up for a few minutes, until the marshmallows are soft and then squish another cracker on top. You have yourself a crazy delicious snack sandwich!
I made a cookie sheet full of these for when my kids walked through the door after school. They’re always starving when they get home and this was the perfect quick snack. They’re ooey gooey and delicious! These oven smores are definitely a must-make snack!
Ingredients
- Whole Wheat Ritz crackers
- jumbo marshmallows cut in half
- chocolate bar divided into squares
