Everyone loves a popsicle! Try making your own at home with this Tropical Protein Popsicle Recipe. Only a couple of ingredients needed for a healthy, protein rich popsicle.
It might be late in the summer but I always love a popsicle. I usually keep my freezer stocked up with them. The only downside can be the amount of sugar and lack of nutrients. That’s what is so great about making your own at home because you know exactly what’s going into them.
I wanted to create a protein popsicle that tastes like a dessert, but was filled with nutrients, too. My first thought was that using a ready made protein shake would be the easiest way to get the protein and nutrients I wanted into them. I love the Premier Protein Peaches & Cream Shake. It’s seriously probably my favorite flavor (next to chocolate, of course!). I added some vanilla yogurt and tropical fruit and blended it all up in my Vitamix.
The worst part is waiting for the popsicles to freeze! After making these, my youngest son kept asking when he could have one and I had to make the poor kid wait until they were frozen and after I was done taking photos. 😉 I was curious to see what he thought of them because they are healthier. OMG he ate two right in a row and was raving about them!
I kid you not, these are so yummy! I’ve made then two times in the last week. Just looking at the photos here makes me want to go make another batch! (Side note: turns out popsicles are NOT easy to photograph because they melt so fast, lol. Especially with how warm it’s been here!) Bad photos aside, I hope you’ll give them a try this week!
