This incredibly easy Strawberry Sorbet Recipe will rock your world! Only a few ingredients and a blender is needed.
It’s officially summertime. I can tell you it’s been craziness at my house. Four boys home for the summer, all with different schedules and camps. It’s beginning to quickly drive me bonkers! 😉
I’m enjoying the last few weeks before the football season starts, though. Football season is absolutely insane. My husband is the President of our local Pop Warner so he spends many weekends and after work hours making sure things are running smoothly on and off the fields. It’s a big job!
My 13 year old decided to play football for his freshman year in high school, which is kind of exciting! He has football camp starting next week and my two little guys are playing this year, too. A lot going on in our house! Even though life is busy, I love finding time to enjoy the outdoors with family and/or friends.
One of my favorite summertime desserts that I love serving when I have people over, is sorbet. Now, I do have a Blender Cherry Sorbet Recipe that I’ve made many times and is delicious. But my good friend is Italian and she told me that traditional sorbets don’t contain dairy, and my Blender Cherry Sorbet has greek yogurt. Oops!
So this Strawberry Sorbet Recipe is more of a traditional sorbet recipe without dairy. Many sorbet recipes call for a simple syrup (water and sugar combination) but to save calories, keep it lower in sugar and add a little protein in, I used Premier Protein’s Clear Protein Drink, Orange Mango flavor instead of a simple syrup. Clever, right?!
The Premier Protein Clear Protein Drinks are a great source of protein, while keeping you hydrated at the same time. They’re an ideal post workout drink or afternoon snack.
Each bottle has 20 grams of protein, 90 calories, 1 gram of carbs, 0 grams of fat and 0 grams of sugar! Gluten free and made with no artificial flavoring. Pretty awesome, right? You can see why I decided to use it instead of making a simple syrup to sweeten the sorbet.
This Strawberry Sorbet Recipe has only about 21 calories per 1/2 cup! It’s so simple to make and doesn’t taste like a “healthier” treat. It’s great to share with company on a warm summer night. It’s the perfect ending to a light dinner. It’s refreshing and delicious! I hope you’ll give it a try!
